Jio Prime plan extended till April 15, new ‘Summer Surprise’ offer announced

NEW DELHI: Billionaire Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Jio Friday said that users can still enrol to Prime membership by paying Rs 99 with the first recharge of Rs 303 or above with a 15-day extension till April 15.
Customers who could not enrol for Jio Prime by March 31 for whatever reason can still do so by paying Rs 99 along with their first purchase of Jio’s Rs 303 and other plans till April 15, the company in a statement said.
The Mumbai-based telco also launched the Jio Summer Surprise for its Prime members that allows them to make their first paid recharge prior to 15 April using Jio’s Rs 303 plan (or any higher value plan), will get services for the initial 3 months on a complimentary basis.
“In just one month, over 72 million Jio customers have signed up for Jio Prime. We, at Jio, are honoured and grateful for this tremendous response. I want to personally thank you for choosing Jio, and for being a founding member of the Jio movement,” Reliance Industries chairman mukesh D Ambani said in a letter to Jio subscribers
On February 21, Ambani announced Prime membership for on board customers on a payment of a one-time fee of Rs 99. The membership, available for one year, gives the customers an option to choose from multiple data packs starting from Rs 149.
Telecom arm of the oil-to-logistics conglomerate Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) launched commercial services on September 5, 2016, and is offering free unlimited data and voice calls for lifetime under the extended promotional Happy New Year offer ending March 31.
Sunil Mittal-driven Bharti Airtel had a market share of 33.1%, followed by UK-based Vodafone’s Indian arm with 23.5% and Aditya Birla group’s Idea Cellular’s 18.7% pie as on December 2016, according to brokerage HSBC.
